Winter ills and chills be gone, with this zingy Immunity tonic recipe. This little elixir sure packs a punch, as it's loaded with Vitamin C and ginger to give your immune system a kick.

The concentrated dose of ingredients which have natural cold-fighting properties will brighten up your winter mornings, and can be taken whether you're feeling under the weather or just want to give your health a boost.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 large navel oranges
  • 1 lemon
  • 150g ginger
  • 30g turmeric or 1 Tbsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Water

OTHER OPTIONS:

  • Carrots
  • Beetroot
  • Mandarins or tangelos
  • Apples
  • Celery
  • Spinach
  • Cucumber

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash the skins of oranges, lemons, or any other fruit you're using. You'll use peels and all!
  2. Chop the oranges, lemons, ginger, and turmeric into smaller pieces.
  3. Add to a blender and pour in enough water to just cover them. Blend until smooth.
  4. Place a sieve over a bowl & pour the liquid through the sieve to strain out the pulp. Use a spoon to press down on the pulp to extract the juice. Transfer the pulp to a muslin cloth & squeeze out all the extra juice. Reserve the pulp to add a spoonful or two to your stir-fries for extra flavour.
  5. Store the wellness shots in an airtight bottle or jar in the fridge.
